Haul out the holly with the GJC Big Band as they introduce Upstate South Carolina to the unforgettable Nutcracker Suite as interpreted by the colossal jazz legend Duke Ellington. With his “Toot-Toot-TooAe-Toot,” “Peanut BriKle Brigade,” and “Sugar Rum Cherry” movements (among others) based on Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker Suite, listeners of all ages will be delighted by the innovation and humor of this bandleader/composer/arranger extraordinaire.
