Join Horatio (Hamlet’s closest confidant) as he attempts to tell the tale of his best friend’s final days: While grieving his father’s death and his mother’s hasty re-marriage, prince Hamlet encounters a haunting revelation. Torn between duty and damnation, the fate of Denmark lies in his hands: will he act, or allow the darkness to reign? Usher in the “witching time of night” as one actor takes on 15 different characters in this ghost-story retelling of Shakespeare’s most famous play.
ABOUT THE PERFORMER
John Michael Cox is the founding artistic director of Vagabond Shakespeare, and views each new project as an invitation toward Trust, Curiosity, and Play. He earned his MFA in Classical Acting from the Shakespeare Theatre Company Academy at The George Washington University. Hailed as “marvelously comic” by DC Metro Theatre Arts, and praised for his “fierce commitment” by the Greenville News, John Michael has proven his flexibility in 20 of Shakespeare’s titles. His daughter, Rosalind, is why he smiles.
