Tell us a little bit about your past theatre experience. Ever performed at Centre Stage?
I have been blessed to have many experiences in the Upstate spanning from my days at Clemson University to present. My last performance was at Centre Stage early summer, with Intimate Apparel .
Tell us about your character in the show. What was your process in getting prepared for the role?
My Character is Oda Mae Brown… Psychic Reader and Advisor. She has a good heart, is gifted, but hasn’t always done the right thing. To prepare, I considered being different. Hearing what others don’t hear. Seeing what others don’t see. Not fitting in…Just being different… what’s that like?… what you do to fit in?
“Ghost: The Musical” is based off the hit 1990 movie with Patrick Swayze, Demi Moore and Whoopi Goldberg. What’s it like recreating such a loved story and characters?
Just pure fun and energy. We are working very hard to seamlessly weave this beautiful story, amazing music and choreography into a tapestry that incorporates the audience as a character wrapped up in this amazing piece.
This show takes place in the 90’s, which seem to be making a huge comeback lately. What is your favorite 90’s fashion trend that is coming back today?
Chokers and bandanas as hair accessories.
Centre Stage is producing the Regional Premiere for “Ghost: The Musical”. What is it like working on and bringing a brand new show to the Upstate community?
Very Exciting. Since we are premiering it first regionally…We must bring the HEAT!!!
Anything else you’d like our audiences to know about you?
We hope you come out and enjoy this beautiful story with us!
