Meet Simone Mack-Orr from “Sister Act!”

Tell us a little bit about your past theatre experience. Ever performed at Centre Stage?

Well I started as a Doo-Wop girl in Little Shop of Horrors in high school and didn’t actually do another show until I did Civil War at the Spartanburg Little Theatre and from there I caught the bug.  My first show at Centre Stage was Heart & Soul and I’m SUPER EXCITED to be back!

Tell us what it’s like to be re-creating characters from a pretty iconic movie!

WOW! I mean I have always wanted to be chased after in my high heels. No but seriously, I love the growth from selfish to selfless that is show with my character.

What’s your way of getting prepared for a role? Any funny/weird superstitions?

Well being that I’m new to “acting” my goal is to be consistent  and give my very best to what the character requires and then there are the pushups that I do backstage before I go on to just to help get rid of my jitters.

Anything else you’d like our audiences to know about you?

Thanks to Centre Stage for giving me a platform to do what I love; perform. I’d also like to thank my wife, Ebony for being so supportive of me during this season of new opportunities.

Don’t miss Simone in Sister Act running March 16 – April 8
